I choose NY although I enjoy a good Chicago style as well. I just don't really condider something you practically have to eat with a knife and fork to be pizza.

The California stuff is just funky toppings. Meh.

Is a pesto pizza considered a california pizza?

Jezebel

Probably not, but I would still consider it yuppie and questionably even a pizza.

Its when they put stuff on a pizza that should never go on a pizza. i.e. sundried tomatoes, pesto, yardbird, green beans, sprouts, or anything else that has no business on a pizza. Thats my interpretation.

Had this been a barbaque poll, St. Louis would have gotten the nod. I can't even say I know what St. Louis style pizza is? Can you enlighten me?

I've had it once. It's very dry and no tomato sauce. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The ultimate style of pizza is Antonio's in Amherst, MA. If you happen to live 3000 miles away (like I now do) you have something else, because all other pizza has been ruined for you.

I'm from Northampton, MA. Should I try this place, I imagine it's probably only 30 min drive.

If you hit up Antonio's, I reccomend buffalo pizza or fajita pizza if its available. As far as this poll goes, I guess it would be considered California Gourmet style.
I prefer Chicago style myself, hard to find it here unless you go to Uno's though.

Yes. (I lived in Northampton until I was 10, then Amherst through the end of high school.) Recommended are the chicken+blue cheese, chicken quesadilla, steak+cheddar, tortellini-pesto, black bean+avocado, and basically everything else they make. They also sometimes have one which is sweet italian sausage, caramelized onions and creme fraiche which is pretty damn good.

Basically, go, and point at something. They'll heat it up and give it to you, and you'll like it.

And presuming you head over in the evening, it should be more like 20 mins. Especially once they fix the eastbound lanes after the bridge so you don't have to merge near the getty station.

This poll's complete failure to recognize Pepe's and Sally's in New Haven makes it a waste of time.

Scrub,

I assume you read the post prior to just lashing out like an idiot and complaning that your favorite local pizza joint wasn't lisited. I guess I could edit my original post and include Pepe's and your aunt Sally's pizza joint, but the question wasn't what is the best pizza joint.

The question was what is the best pizza style..... Unless Pepe's or aunt Sally's joint makes pizza in a style that is nationally know then I guess they aren't quite in the running for winner of theis poll. Since you are such a big fan of Pepe's and aunt Sally's pizza why don't you tell us what style it is? Unless it is New Haven style pizza that most of us are familar with then your rant is completlely based in the wrong thread.

If you want to try to help wasting time in threads then you might want to start with reading the subject line prior to posting.
