How would you go about calculating the variance, for a number of SNG's placements, ie. 1st, 4th, 3rd, ect... I think I might have seen a post on this subject, or one that discussed it. If so, can anyone point me in that direction. Thanks
If this post should be in another section, feel free to move it.

Not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but...

Standard deviation (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/favlinker.php?Cat=&Entry=54096&F_Board=singletable &Thread=1373360&partnumber=&postmarker=)

Variance is defined as SUM((result - mean)^2)/N

Where N is the number of tourneys. Also note that Variance is the square of the standard deviation, so if you're using a program that gives you the STDEV (e.g Poker Tracker), just square it.

How do you do that cool trick of getting windows to pop out of the thread? And while we're on it, how do you get an internet address down to say just one or two words (vs. just copying and pasting the address into the thread.)

Thanks for the replies, that helps.

And ScubaChick, assuming this is a serious question... When you go to make a reply, underneath where you type your post, there is 'Instant UBB Code'. Click on 'URL', and follow the prompts. If that's what you were asking for.

sorry Scuba Chuck, honest mistake. I just noticed, and now it's too late to edit.
