What's the most you've ever lost while trying to clear a bonus?

I'm working on clearing the $150 Empire bonus at $0.50-$1. If Empire was to magically release my bonus right now, I would have made a whopping $9.98. 70BB downswing in just over 600 hands. YIKES! This has been a run of 2nd best hands the likes of which I had only read about up until now. I'm just glad that it is happening on somebody else's money.

I'm curious to know as to what is the worst others have done while clearing a bonus?

I tried to clear the $600 bonus on FTP. it's a 100% matching up to $600 bonus. I multi'd 1/2 for a while, then did the math on how long it would take me (50k hands or somethin ridiculous) so I moved up to 3/6. And then I did the math again. I ended up playing 8/16 3-handed and took some beats and that was it. -$600, bonus not cleared.

Doubt anyone can top this. My 2nd "best" was depositing $1k to do one of the Party reload bonuses, winning $700 in 35 hands at 10/20, withdrawing my $1k, losing most of the $700 multi-tabling 1/2 6max but clearing the bonus, then losing the bonus, canceling my $1k cashout, and losing the $1k. I only count this as my 2nd best because I didn't lose the money till after I had cleared the bonus.

Bonuses are bad for me, yet somehow I am considering the empire and paradise bonuses right now...

I lost 400 (-600+200 bonus, 30bb) clearing the last PartyPoker bonus, and no rb because it's my old Party account.

I'm down $60 1000 hands into Empire150 - and I was up $80 yesterday after 500 hands, so -$140 swing today.

But the good thing is I've made $90 Sklansky Bucks off this bonus.

350 hands to clear. After 86 I was down to $1.18 so I just gave up.

A couple party bonuses ago I dropped 60BB at 15/30 clearing the bonus.

This is $1800 btw...then I got the $200 bonus. yippee!!


I've had a nice run recently where I lose 25BB's or so clearing the bonus...and get it back after the bonus is cleared. I guess all the sites are 'rigging' the cards to reward me for playing during non-bonus periods.

I was pretty even after about 1000 hands on .5/1 trying to clear this empire bonus. But I have been on a crushing downswing. I went right down about 60BB in fewer than 100 hands. Bad beats with plenty of river suck-outs. I think I've won about 5 hands in last 200.

So right now, -$65 of the $150 bonus.

for some reason I always have bad luck whoring at Absolute. Them and Full Tilt are the only two sites I have a lifetime net loss at (I could probably make it back on the latter but I just refuse to support their bonus structure any further).

I'm down about $240 (120BB) at Absolute - even with the bonus included! - while I'm up at least several thousand combined at all the others. can't explain it.

I lost 180$ (with bonus 90$) trying to clear this months Interpoker bonus. I managed to pair AK-AT on the flop two times out of 25 times in ~550 hands. They flipped the switch on me!

Last time Party had the 200 dollar relaod I stacked it with compbonus (1900 hands total) and early on i was down 820 playing 100 NL but in the end I was up 420

Full Tilt bonus lost almost 250 BB with very limited table selcetion. The Pending bonus may still be there.

Yeah, there definatley rigging the site when they give out these bonuses. It must be true, weve got a sample size of, oh, at least 15 on this thread.

For instance I was down -70BB over the course of clearing the bonus. Within 200 hands of clearing it, I swung +100BB up, for a 30BB profit for the day.

I dont mind them rigging it, because they allways let you win the money back once youve cleared the bonus.I guess they do this to make you stay playing at the site, instead of cashing out the bonus /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Some affiliate deposited $75 into my account. I started playing and had a string of fantastic luck - Aces over Kings kind of hands one after another. My BB was something like 50/100. I had similar experiences over at Paradise and Royal Vegas before things started to go down the tubes on the other sites - probably because I never deposited my own cash on any site. So I figured the whole thing was rigged to get me to deposit more cash. So I cashed out. What they giveth they can taketh - and there is no recourse of any kind. It is all perfectly legal. No site ever promises a fair deal, and no site is located in a country where it makes a difference anyway. I immediately received an iniviation to open a premier account if I would send them clear copies of all of my important documentation (credit cards with my number _and_ my three digit security code clearly showing). I am now playing Go on Yahoo. Anyone play Go?

January was a bad month for me and bonuses (bonii?).

During the Empire bonus early in January, I lost $1000 trying to clear the bonus. I went on to win that back over the next week and a half. Then during the Party bonus, I dropped over $1200. Again, I spent the next week and a half winning that back.

So far for this bonus? I'm down $160. Note that all this is on the $3/6 tables. I'm starting to dread these damn reload bonus periods. All these fishy tables and I'm the one constantly getting sucked out on. Blah /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Same here, I usually win less playing for bonuses (sometimes losing). Biggest loss was 1800 for a $200 bonus playing multiple tables of 15/30 in a mad rush to clear the bonus before it expired in a few hours!

I have lost around $1000 a couple of times, my gf is always on my back when I am doing bonus 'work' she says that there is no point in playing for me (as I always lose playing them).

Yeah, $3/6 is my home. I swear, you've never seen so many suckouts in your life. My TPTK couldn't win anything. My sets couldn't win anything. My straights couldn't win anything. That is, when they hit. Flushes coming in with 10:1 odds, OESDs worse than that.

The good news is that I've worked my way back in the black on this one!
