I think the subject says it all.

Any suggestions for where to look for poker room deals?

Here's what i've found.

Go to orbitz, priceline, etc. Look for hotel deals there. Find the type of hotel with a poker room (or not) in the price range you want to stay at. Now go to the website for the hotel you've decided on and book your room there. I've never seen a deal on any of the 'cheap' sites that is below what the hotel will give you. Also, if you book through those sites you are typically ineligable for the poker room rate at your casino if you end up paying enough hours to qualify.

When i booked at mirage two weeks ago i saved $18 bucks for two nights vs buying off of priceline which is where i did most of my shopping.

Where do you want to play? As long as you want to play anywhere from the Bellagio south, the San Remo is pretty damn cheap without a rate. It's not terribly far of a walk. I walked all the way to the Mirage, but that was pretty far.

Care to share the rate at the Mirage for future reference?

Two nights were:

The total rate for your stay is $433.82 with your departure date scheduled for Sun. February 13, 2005.

Including taxes. ~193 a night before taxes. I think that was about 179 for friday and 207 for saturday night.

I booked the poker rate at the Bellagio for a trip the first weekend of March and also called the Mirage. The poker rate at the Bellagio is $129 Sun-Thurs and $199 Fri-Sat. The poker rate at the Mirage is $99 and $139, $179 on 'premium nights'. Book through the poker office in both cases. Either way, I suggest calling the poker room wherever you plan on staying and talk directly to the office.

U are paying too much Stabin, but thats ok. Before you get your key sign in with the poker room and let them know you want to be tracked for the poker rate.

I'll be staying at the Bellagio on the 12th, but since the remainder of my trip I will be working and cannot log more than 4 hours/night I had to move down to the Luxor /images/graemlins/frown.gif

The Bellagio requires 6 hours/day/room and they want you to stay at least 3 days. The Mirage requires 6 on weekdays and 8 on weekends.

has anyone stayed at Mandalay Bay with the poker room rate? I booked a room for there in July. I called to ask about the poker room rate and they said that I need to first start playing there and then they can rate/track me and adjust my room for that stay and future stays afterward.

After completing the requirements for the poker room rate at the Bellagio just once, they don't track you anymore and you get the rate no matter how much you play each time you go.

I didn't test it as I play for at least 8 hours a day when I'm there, but they said that once you're in their system, you get the poker rate. It's the same as the casino rate.

Yes. I forgot to mention this. This, as well as the fact that I'd have to play 8 hours on the weekends at the Mirage, plus you do have to keep playing at the Mirage on future trips, is why I'm at the Bellagio. Plus... it's the freakin' Bellagio.

Also, if you have, say, 2 guys staying in the room, you don't have to play 12 hours per day. Quite the opposite - you can combine the hours of both players and put in 3 hours/day each and then on top of that, you're both rated and can both get the rate next time either of you go back. It's quite a deal if you ask me. Go once with one or two of your buddies, split a room, put in 2-3 hours a day each, and then you can all get the Bellagio for $129/$199 a night any time you want.

I haven't been to Las Vegas in years and recently looked on www.vegas.com (http://www.vegas.com) . Is this a good site to book a well-locatd non poker related mid level (Flamingo, Aladdin, Bally's) hotel?

The rates (even for midweek) seem expensive compared to what I remember years back /images/graemlins/mad.gif

$99 on weekdays, $139 on weekends if you book through the poker room and play 6 hours/weekday (total for your whole room, not just you) and 8 on weekends.

If you stay at Bellagio would hours played at the Mirage count towards the 6 hour requirement? I believe that is the case for the general "Rewards Club."

Also, what are the lowest Hold 'em games spread at Mirage?

Just in case you're interested. The Stardust has very good Poker Room rates. $45 on the weekends, $30 for the weekdays. That's for the tower rooms, the Villa rooms are cheaper but not as nice. I don't know what the minimum requirements are but I doubt that I play more than 5 or 6 hours/day on average and they never say anything to me. It's not the Bellagio or Mirage but if you like low limit Hold Em it's fine. Also, if you play even a little on the machines, you get better deals sent to you in the mail.
