I believe the Trump (~20 minutes from Downtown) spreads 3/6.

Other than that, you're stuck with 5/10 (Harrah's, the Godawful Hollywood Casino)

Call ahead if you're going to Harrahs. The number is 219-378-3558 and they'll hold your reservation for up to an hour.

I will be up in the Chicago area in the next few weeks as well. I will probably play at Harrah's because that is the closest place to where I have to pick something up at.

Hotel question though (sorry to steal your thread), should I just stay at Harrah's or is there something cheaper but nice around the same area?

Depending where in the Chicago area you are, (e.g., Northern Suburbs) it might be more convenient to drive north to Milwaukee. The Potawatomi spreads 2-4 and 5-10 games.

I don't know about other lodging in the area, but the rooms at Harrah's East Chicago are very nice. Much nicer than those at Harrah's Las Vegas, IMHO.

the immediate area is very industrial, so there's probably nothing else other than Trump. The White Castle near Trump has bulletproof glass, even at the walkup counter. You could stay in the south loop (Chicago downtown), but that's probably going to be a bit more pricey.

HAHAHAHA! You'll see when you get there /images/graemlins/blush.gif

For the love, just stay at either Harrah's or Trump.

If you are going to be in Alsip then yes the East Chicago Casinos (Harrah's and Trump) are going to be the closest for you.

About 60 miles from Roselle to Gary - according to Mapquest. Pretty straightforward drive. Trump has 3/6 and a nice room to boot.

You may want to check out www.rockfordcharitablegames.com (http://www.rockfordcharitablegames.com) they run charity events at various locations, some of which are very close to Roselle. I have not played in any of their games but do know that they are very fishy & easy to break. A friend plays $30 sng's & he is just ok & does ok for himself. The SNG's pay top finisher only with the option of the top 2 chopping if they choose. Claims he gets called down by someone holding rags quite often. He did tell me that the last time he played, there were 12 people at his table to start, which I'm not sure I like but he claims such a high% of players are so bad it doesn't matter. I know they run step tourney's for WSOP too & offer extra chips for early tourney entries. Good luck & hope it helps you out.
