I know it's opening in the next month or two, but I haven't heard anything more solid. I'm weighing my options for a 2 or 3 day trip in the next few weeks and Shreveport is a hell of a lot closer to me than Vegas, and I don't know what to expect from Winstar yet. I've played at Hollywood a million times, and it'll do, but I'd love to have another option there.

What I can't figure out is why the Shreveport Horseshoe didn't have a room from day 1. Didn't Jack own/run both the Shreveport and Tunica casinos?

Just got off the phone with someone who told me that the tentative opening is March 22nd. She didn't know anything else, but it's a start.

i didn't even know the hollywood had a poker room. what limits do they spread and how many tables do they have? if you want to make a trip you could go to the new casino in tulsa (cherokee) because their poker room is extremly nice (just like any room you would find in vegas) and they have a really nice hotel.

They had one of the nicest rooms east of the Rocky mountains then shut it down and filled the room with slot machines. 'Bout 6 years ago. If your in Round Rock like I think your location said, why in the world wouldn't you just go to Lake Charles. Best poker within driving distance of you without a doubt.

I haven't played poker in Lake Charles. My parents live between Dallas and Shreveport, so its much easier to leave the kiddos there and hit Shreveport. I hear Lake Charles is good, maybe I'll give it a shot another time.

The new poker rooms opening this spring in Oklahoma, is a much quicker drive from Dallas. It will still all be $5 rake. I just cant stand Shreveport.
