Is this always pushing all in with high pockets? Why do you find this better than normal bets?

Because they're somewhat as likely to be called. Mind you I have never really done it.

because of its trickiness.

and the times they fold, you don't lose out on much.

I think its a decent tactic to use when you think there is a good chance you wont get action anyways.

Perhaps, but of all the good recommendations made by David Sillers in the Jan '05 2+2 mag, this one is probably the least useful. The number of players who will call "move of honor" bets are few, and the money you give up from bad calls by others that become folds when you push probably reduces overall profitability of the move by a significant chunk.

Now, IF you're in LP, AND its folded to you, AND a player in later pre-flop position (meaning to your left and yet to act) is maniacal or has a tendency to take big raises as a challenge to his character, THEN this suddenly becomes a more attractive option. But to utilize the move of honor outside those paramaters, to me, seems to be sub-optimal.

Players frequently using this play, particularly with KK, need to be better capitalized in terms of bankroll than those that do not. Your variance will go up substantially, moreso if you're doing this with a stack of 100+ BB's in a 50BB game (e.g. Party's NL$25 and NL$50s).

I think the move of honor also refers to doing a push preflop reraise instead of a standard reraise.

I've had good success with it. Against late night drunk LAGs it works best, particularly if you are pushing PF with AA and there is already a raise in front. A tight passive table is not the place for this move.
