This story just breaks my heart *NOT* the kid was pushed hard but now he's 22, worth a million bucks and soon he'll hook up with a super hottie....Tiger Woods success ring a bell?
And all this thanks to dad.
But don't get me wrong I wouldn't raise a child that way.

Rick Reilly beat these guys to it.

I admit it, I read SI back-to-front when I get it.

Dad's a sack of [censored]. Earl didn't beat Tiget or make him run a mile for every stroke he finished over par. Daddy O'Hair is actually going to send copies of a "contract" he made his son sign giving him 10% his lifetime earnings to media outlets? They will vilify him. Daddy's exactly what's wrong with sports parenting, people trying to get rich off their kids talent. [censored] A.

I saw these guys on 60 minutes...The father was scary then and appears to be a huge a**hole now...

I just skimmed the top of the article, I went back and read it in full and agree the father is a [censored] ass.

The sad thing is that rat [censored] bastard thinks he's owed something now by his kid.

It wouldn't bother me a bit if this man died before he could trash his daughter's life.

Where the hell is the mom in all this? Passive little squirrel?

Great article, tragic though too.

Even if you don't read front-to-back, Rick Reilly usually does one of the best articles in every issue.
