PT Lag - Processor or RAM?

When I'm using the auto-import feature in PT, my CPU goes to 100%, causing everything else to lag while it updates the system. This is especially annoying when I'm 4-tabling with GT+ on each table. I upgraded my RAM from 128 to 640, but it doesn't appear to be helping much. My processor is a P4 2.4, does anyone have any suggestions to improve performance?

I'd put even more RAM than that in your box. Until then, try setting your PT priority down a notch or two. It may help.

make sure you are not rating yourself each time
remove old hh from the target folder

You definitely need more ram. And if you can't do that then I'd try Playerview. It doesn't bog down your PC.

I changed the auto import from 1 minutes to 3 minutes. It helped a little but it is still slow.

I import every 3 min. as well.
