monitor question

i've noticed everyone recommending the dell monitor. i know i don't have the same model that everyone is talking about, but i have three 17in flat screen monitors. i have a dell, samsung, and sharp. of the 3, dell is by far the worst even though it was the most expensive of the 3. i'm very disappointed in it. i've tried to adjust the settings and even used the "auto adjust" button. any suggestions what the settings should be to make it nice and bright like my other 2 monitors?

Dell had 2 levels of monitors, and I am guessing that yours is older? anyway, the ultrasharp line is very good, and most of the guys here live on those things all day/night. The 20" will do the 1600x1200 resolution necessary for 4 tabling with no overlap, and I have a Planar 17" next to my 2001 and I can see a huge difference no only in the doable resolution, but the quality of the picture too.

Not "everyone" recommends the Dell. I set the brighness on my Samsung 213T to 38%.

Your side by side comparison might ... nah ... it won't.
