According to the Theorem of Blind Stealing by MJ (http://teamfu.freeshell.org/tournament/theorem_blind_stealing.html) you open-push with all hands in the SB, if you or the BB has less than 13xBB .
So with less than 13xBB I'm in an agressive all-in modus.
With 5xBB your in desperation modus. You're looking for a steal oppurtunity, not cards acording to Lou Krieger (http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_magazine/archives/showarticle.php?a_id=14503).
Lou Krieger (http://www.cardplayer.com/poker_magazine/archives/showarticle.php?a_id=14503) also mentions that if your are in the BB with 3xBB left, and the SB open raises you all-in, you have to call without even looking at your cards.
In Tournament Poker for Advanced Players (http://twoplustwo.com/books.html#Tournament%20Poker%20for%20Advanced%20P layers), Part Two: Tournament Theory - When the Blinds are coming Up, David Sklansky writes; [ QUOTE ]
"With one hand to go at a full table, you should not play [Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif] or [Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif 5/images/graemlins/spade.gif]. I would estimate you would need something along the lines of [K/images/graemlins/spade.gif 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif], [Q/images/graemlins/spade.gif T/images/graemlins/heart.gif] or [J/images/graemlins/spade.gif 8/images/graemlins/spade.gif]."

[/ QUOTE ]
Sklansky also advocates folding [9/images/graemlins/heart.gif 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif] UTG when short stacked.

<font color="red"> Q1: Any other ideas i need to incorporate to play may short stack better?
Q2: When you're playing agressive short stack, how do you play on the Button, with a limper infront? </font>

Don't ignore opportunities from EP and MP. If I'm less than 10BB in MP2, it's bubble time and both blinds are short and haven't been defending I'll take a shot. Pay attention to who is/isn't defending REGARDLESS of your position and you'll find even more opportunities.

speaking of 8h9h, i thought it was only correct to play lower suited connecters if you are in late position with many ppl in the pot.

is that right? seeing that your only gonna make ur big hand a small percentage of the time so when u do hit it you have to make sure there are several ppl in the pot with you to insure that u will get paid in full.

isnt that one of the basic lessons in implied odds?

i would not be suprised if i am way off so advice would be greatly appreciated. ty
