View Full Version : Huge swings at PP $1-2

I've been playing on PP for about a year, and just recently started bonus whoring. My question for everyone out there is, does anyone else have very big swings from day to day playing $1-2 on PP? It seems like one day i'll make $80, and the very next day, playing a similar amount of hands lose $100. I am a winning player, but I don't know my exact BB/100. Over the course of clearing 1400 raked hands, I will finish up approx. $300 in game play. What do you guys think?

That is a pretty normal/average swing.

You better get used to it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

I think the second half of this sentence contradicts the first.

Nevertheless, yes, expect big swings.

I think a session extreme can be +/- 150 BB

I don't know what you're complaining about if you reckon to win $300 on average over 1400 hands. That's 10BB/100 hands approximately at $1/$2.

Nice going if this is a genuine statistic and not a feel-good guesstimate.

If you're multi-tabling your swings will be even greater of course. Being down $100 4 tabling is pretty normal.

Try losing $20K in a little over a week.

They will just happen 'faster'.

Actually it's correct for almost everyone. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Your win rate will drop and standard deviation will go up when multitabling. Maybe not by much, but by a small percentage at the very least.

Damn dude, if you think that's a big swing you're in for a treat. Friday night I lost $600 on those tables, only to come back and make $975 Saturday. And I only play 2 tables.

I guess that I can buy that, but that isn't exactly the way the poster I was responding to was making it out to be.

Don't argue semantics with me. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Who, me? Hah. If you guys really want to buddy list a dude with a 24% VP$IP, well, I guess I'd be happy to give you my name.

i'd say you've clearly got some leaks in there somewhere if your swings are that wild at 1/2... 300BB downturn in a night is something most do not consider regular...

WSOPWinner2005

Getting VP$IP Below or at 20% would be a good starter. Seriously my game still sucks but plugging that leak changed me from a TOTAL loser to someone who still just tilts way to easily...

Way I did it was multi-tabling. Less time to play anything BUT premium hands especially the first 40 horus or so while you are getting a grasp of it. Now I am bored 4 tabling NLHE and will still let my VP$IP get around that range at times, always on my losing nights.

I would honestly say VP$IP figures are the most telling figure on what type of player you have, out of ALL the statistics.

You guys do know I'm talking about 1-2 no limit right?

And yeah that was one of my worst nights ever, I wouldn't consider that regular either.

Also that 24% VP$IP is at 6max.

Oops, I'm starting to get the feeling I wasn't on the same page as anyone in this thread. Was I really just talking about 6max no limit while everyone else was talking about 1-2 limit ring play? I really have to start paying more attention here.

the would be an astronomical winrate (somethign like 9 bb/100). apparently you're not really sure what's "normal" to win or lose. that's kind of important

its a Partypoker winrate, most streaky place on the net. Winning/ loosing 100 BB/day on Party is usuall, on Interpoker at sample rare. On Party u raise AA and have 9 callers, on Inter any fold:)

A good reason for lower streaks on Interpoker is that you get dealt just over half the hands that you see on Party. (Interpoker is sloooooow.)

These tables with 9 callers seem to elude me at 3/6 and my wife at 0.5/1 - I sure wish we could find them!
