Also not applicable for players in 4-chip/8-chip game structures like 20/40.

Stack or toss? If toss, spin as you toss? Also, what limits?

Stack. Toss is obnoxious.

stack at everything. one of those few wierd nl habits that i'm not trying to get rid of.

edit: those who can toss out a big bet so it lands and stays in one stack are awesome.

Can this really be done? I've never seen it.

I get tired of those tossers who insist on having their chips rolling all around the table.

When I have a particularly good hand, I like slamming the chips (stacked) on the table, accompanied by a loud "Gambooool!"

5-10, its like a contest to see who can throw their chip in the air the highest. It would make me angry but it seems the higher they throw the chip, the worst chance they have of winning the hand.

Am I the only one that doesn't understand why California players are prohibited from answering?

No.

And fwiw, I stack. Unless I'm tilting, drunk and at a home game playing limit in which case there'll be chips spinning everywhere.

the first sentence is a hint - he doesn't want answers from people who play in games with rational structures.

I mainly play in 4/8 structure games, but I usually toss even in that game. I stack if I'm needing to put out 12 or more chips at a time, but less than that and I'm tossing or spin-slashing or spin-tossing out the side of my hand. When I'm just straight tossing it's 'cause I'm grabbing off the top of my pyramid which doesn't happen often, but I'm definitely spinning to eliminate the roll factor.

I guess Princeton is worth the money. I'm curious about games where 2 chips denominations are common.

All the low limit games at borgata feature people tossing them out. I'm a bit anal so I typically stack them. Get really annoyed when people toss them out over other people's bets and it leads to confusion about who gets change, or who didn't put out enough etc

The correct answer is "spray." With spin of course. Do you see why?

There are California games that are 3 chip/6 chip. The 9/18 is played with $3 chips, isn't it?

edtost

yes, and only $3 chips. even if $3 chips existed, a 9/18 game on the east coast would include a large amount of larger denomination chips, the way 15 games always have lots of green on the table.

Tossing is not at all obnoxious if you do it right. If the chips are rolling out and splashing the pot, then it is obnoxious, yes. Plus, tossing increases your chances of being called. When bluffing or with a weak hand, sometimes I will stack.

This is why I said "sometimes". I will not do this against the more observant opponents, of course.

Wow, this is an interesting thread. I never though about all my tells until I started thinking about it. I stack when betting/raising, and toss when calling. Its always fun to watch the old guys take log out of the rack pull a few off the top and put the pile in and say "raise!" on the river(aka nuts)

Yabbut do you have the edge spots all lined up?

Or are they arranged in a tasteful spiral pattern?
