Hi all,

I have hotmail set up in my Outlook express. It can receive messages, but every time I try to send one I receive an error message. Any idea how to resolve this?
Also, do you know of a good techie forum where I can post this stuff, rather than clogging up OOT?

Yeah, get a real email account. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sorry, I don't know anything useful.

It would be a great help to us if you could tell us what the error message said.

Are you sure that hotmail supports OE? Most free web-mail sites don't.

I don't think that's it, because he can receive messages.

I have heard that Hotmail can be a real pain though.

The server does not support the required HTTP methods. Account: 'Hotmail', Server: 'http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp', Protocol: HTTPMail, Server Response: 'Method Not Allowed', Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC35

Tools, internet options, privacy does not have an "edit" option.

Yeah, but you can get to what he was talking about all the same.

It's very easy.

....[PRIVACY]-->[SITES]

Then follow the advice already given to you.
Put in hotmail.com and select [ALLOW]-->[OK]

I have no idea if this fixes your problem, but that's how to get to what he was talking about in XP.
