I'm looking for a site like allvegaspoker (http://allvegaspoker.com/tripreports.php) that covers AC. A link would be great.

there are only 6 casinos in AC that spread poker, of which only 3 (maybe 4) are large enough to even warrant an in-depth review.

for easy reference I have generally used the article in the June 2004 issue of Casino Player entitled "Atlantic City: A Winning Deal For Poker Players" (pp. 34-35). it lists basic info on each of the AC rooms such as games spread, number of tables, and daily tourneys.

you can try contacting the author of that article (nolandalla@aol.com) for a copy of the text.

Simple. Taj, Ballys, Tropicana, maybe Sands, and the jewel, Borgata. The typical NL games are $100 min/300 max, 1/2 bluinds. Limit goes as low as 2/4. Omaha and Stud games are in a good variety too. The main 3, TAJ, Trop, and Borgata all have tournaments. Just check their websites for the schedule. Also all AC hotels do a decent rakeback if you get a card.

I would stick entirely to borgata, taj and trop. In my experience borgata has treated me the best (im tight/aggressive). Taj has a lot of players that are overly tight and ill mannered. Its a good place to go to leave on tilt. Trop is pretty good but you get a lot of people who are all regulars and know how each other play, thus putting you at a disadvantage as a new player. Of the other casinos mentioned none have terrific poker rooms. Harrahs also has a room but it is poorly run and underpopulated.

If you have any questions, post em back. Otherwise ill see you out there. Normally im out there twice a week, other than when it snows this much.

So far I've only been to borgata. I liked it but.....The NL tournaments are mostly rebuys and that sucks. I plan to stay their (borgata) the poker rate is good. I was looking for pokerroom with sub $100 NL tourny's w/o rebuys.

Taj tourneys are all no rebuy. Not sure what the EF's are since they changed it but they used to have a couple under $100 tourneys.

I haven't played in a Taj tourney since last summer, but it was a rebuy tourney with an add-on.

I believe they changed to no rebuys after the US Poker Championship was held.

Well, whenever it was last I look (couple weeks ago) they were all no rebuy.

All taj tournaments are no rebuy, and a couple are sub $100 buy-ins. I believe wednesday is like a $60 buy in.

Also, the rooms at the borgata are beautiful. Call ahead for the poker rate if you know you are going to be staying. I have also stayed at the trop, in the new building which is alright, but no where close to how the quality of the Borgata. Only nice thing about the trop is that the Quarter is really nice and I love eating at PF Changs. If you're looking for a decently priced meal at Borgata check out Noodles of the World and try the chicken pad thai. I wish I was eating some right now...

I'll be at the Borgata on Thursday if any of you guys are gonna be there let me know and ill keep an eye out for you.

Ah, NOTW! Great place at Borgata. Hardly any line (meanwhile there is a 30 min. plus wait at the buffet or Metropolitan).

I didn't start my poker career until after Borgata opened. They treat me so right, I refuse to try anything else for now. Borgata really is the poker crown jewel in AC now.

I had no idea PF Changs was in AC ( I feel in love with this place when I lived out in San Diego), thats great news. I ate at NOW twice during my two days and had the chicken pad thai both times, sounds like we like the same thing. How is the sandwich show down in the pokerroom? The wife has let me off the leash and set me free to AC tomorrow. I'm sure midweeks are slow but I'm hoping it picks up at night. I plan to get the poker rate at the Borgata (great deal). I've never played outside the Borgata, the real reason I started this thread. Hope to see I few of ya down in the pit.

I like PF changs and applebee's, are there any more quality places to eat in AC for a regular poker player.

Also what is up the Pat's cheesesteak's building IN AC, but is closed down and from what I saw at the original in philly, they say that the one in AC is a fake?

The sandwich shop in the poker room at the Borgata is so so. The cheese steaks are good, but stay away from chicken fingers. I thought they might make a good light snack but ended up throwing most of em away.

Midweek poker action at Borgata is actually heavier than you probably think. I like ot make day trips where ill get there at 1:00ish and play for 10 or so hours. Its rare for the table to get any less than 7 handed and even then you can just transfer to another table.

I started my poker career at the Borgata as well, and although I have had good experiences at the trop and taj its still my favorite. Hopefully ill run into some of you guys at some point.

The Sept 20 issue of 'Poker Player' had a good round-up on page 14. The archives can be found here (http://gamblingtimes.com/poker_player/pastissues.html).

Hope that helps,
Andrew
