I haven't played a multi in awhile placed second in one yesterday (not bragging just making a point out of 430). Once I reached final table was VERY comfortable from tons of SNG experience. Sure there was the difference at first with the chip disparity but once down to 5 or 6 treat it the same way and should do good. Of course I had a 6 to one chip lead and lost with sixes vs KJ then AK vs q7 then he just crawled his way back and got all the breaks but part of poker.

I'd think most people who make it to the final table have more SNG experience than MTT experience.

Definitely agree. I've made 2 final tables, won 'em both from mediocre chip position.

You need much more experince than sng's xp , just xp enough to reach the final table and apply your sng's concepts (that's what i am looking for :P ). Good luck

I find the SnG experience really pays when the last 2 tables are short-handed. It plays similiar to the SnG bubble. Everyone tightens up to make the final table. This is usually a great time to pick up chips.

I think MTT specialists are better at getting there. That is their goal every tournament. We SnGers play early levels well, as they are the same in either format (full table, deep stacks).

It is the MIDDLE stages, were the tables are still full but the average stacks now feel the impact of blinds. THIS is where the MTT guys are in their element.

I am not used to having a full table to deal with when the blinds get significant. In the SnGs, its usually a 4-7 handed game....and we are used to a little more agression.

But yeah, we do rock on the 3->2 and 2->1 table pre-merge shorthanded situations, and if we make the top 5, is usually a 1st. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
