View Full Version : How to bet with this hand....

10-02-2001, 07:05 AM
Hi, was wondering how people would bet this hand in small stakes hold'em playing against a lot of loose-aggressive players at the table. Total of 10 players.

Holding AA in the pocket.

Raise until capped.

Flop: 7 K 9 (all cloves) - Worried about the flush but what are the odds with 10 players?

I checked and called.

Turn: 6 (d)

Keep checking and calling even through raises by others.

River: 6 (d) - worried about triples.

Called then lost, player had 7's and 9's

Should I have played this hand? When should I have folded? After the flop? Any suggestions or reasoning will help.

Thanks

Consern for the flush is real. But the others are ALSO conserned for the flush. You can generally call single bets but if it gets raised you probably need to dump it.

If the turn is a 6 and the river a 6 you should NOT be conserned AT ALL about trips since its unlikely someone with a 6 would have survived the flop.

And ... of there is a small pair on board then you have AcesUp and you beat 9sAnd7s.

How could the 6 of diamonds hit the river if it already hit on the flop?

Called then lost, player had 7's and 9's

How could that be when you had pocket rockets?

I think you need to think about the hand and repost what really happened.

Sorry bout the unclear explanation.

Flop: 7, q, 9 (all cloves)

Turn: 6d

River 6d

My pocket: AA

Winner's pocket: 7 9

so winner had two pairs.

did i make the right move to play till the end by calling or should I have folded before after the river?

There were 10 players, after the Turn there were only 4. 2 of those players raised no matter what hand they had (from previous games).

I'm just starting out so not too familiar with all the slang yet.

You have a better two pair. You have AA and 66, he has 99 and 77. AA and 66 win.

how could the turn (4th exposed card) be the 6 of diamonds AND the river (the 5th and final exposed card) be the 6 of diamonds?

are you sure 2 6s were on the board?

if the board showed 7-Q-9-6-6

then your A-A-6-6-Q would beat 7-7-6-6-Q.

sorry, you said he had 7-9,

which gave him 7-7-9-9-Q

same result as my previous post, though.

sorry for any confusion.
