guys...they stiffed me out of my nex-gen chip in my sample pack...not too happy.

but anyways..reading descriptions, it seems like the nexgen's are closest to that 13.5 gram pro clay chip - so I'm wondering if anyone who bought a sample pack and got their right chip can confirm that.

I'm especially wondering if it hits a hard surface with a clank like a standard 11.5 gram plastic pile of [censored] or not.

Interestingly, the 13.5 gram, the heaviest one (with casino around the edge) was the best sounding/feeling - but I'm a tiny bit curious cause they were by far the SOFTEST chip I've ever used - I scratched it with my fingernail.

So I'm wondering if the nexgen's feel/sound like that or more like the 9.5 gram dice chip or the 11.5 gram metal insert chip.

thanks.

i just bought some samples from 5star deal, not their sample pack just ordered some random chips to check out. I ordered the vegas nexgens, nevada jacks desert sands, and those dice ones that cost like .06

I like the nexgens the least, they are too heavy. I've never touched the casino ones, but you can scratch the nexgens with your nail and they are pretty soft.

I was really surprised at how much i like the .06 cent dice ones. If they had some with edgespots i would buy some without thinking, as a matter of fact i'll probably buy a big set anyway because they are so damn cheap.

The desert sands are also very nice, similar to the "chipco-esque" BG chips used in casinos that i like so much.

IMHO the Nextgens are very close to the 13g "Casino" mold chips. Those chips are a tiny bit nicer (certainly the colors) than the Nextgens, but are also a tiny bit more $. You're not going to mistake either for clay or even a true Bud Jones, but for the price they're hard to beat. I've mentioned elsewhere I'm something of a clay snob, I've a set of Pausons that I use for my cash game, but I decided to pick up a set of Nextgens for low limit tournament laughs. I got 1000 w/ case for $219 (shipping included in that price). That's hard to beat.

The $.06 dice chips are really not to my liking but there's no denying how cheap they are. You could have mountains of 'em for what I paid for the Nextgens. You'd have several oceans for what I paid for my Paulsons, even when I got 'em 8 years ago.

I ordered a set a couple weeks ago and the same thing happened. I emailed them about it and the first reply was that the sample pack doesn't include the Nexgen. I emailed back pointing out that the webpage had said (and still did say) say that it was included and that the Nexgen was one of three chips in the pack that I was trying to evaluate. They shipped one out to me at no charge.

Worth a try.
