I was thinking that it was a bluff, the player was a little too aggressive in my opinion. I should have bet the turn. Any comments on this hand?

I'm not looking to call any bets on the river, certainly not ones in the two digit range.

Fold pre-flop.

With A9 offsuit I usually do in other positions, but I don't like to throw away this hand on the button.

Fold the river.

I don't have a problem with limping in with this hand on the button if the table's particularly passive / weak.

Why would you call an all-in here? You don't even have a good kicker. If you think you're getting bluffed, wait till you get a really good hand (overpair, two pair, set) play it the same way except check-raise all in on the turn. The way the hand went, I think it's more likely that you opponent had you beat and figured you were bluffing on the flop when you checked the turn.

Should I bet this turn?

No, you took a stab at the pot and he called. He probably has trips and is overbetting to get you to call.

Follow through on the turn, if your raised you can safely throw away your two pair. If he smooth calls, check behind him on the river or fold to the all in.
