Courtesy of poker tracker, this formerly regularly winning player has managed to win a grand total of $14.50 over the last 10,000 or so hands of Party 15/30.

Yes, that's fourteen dollars and fifty cents.

A bad run of cards is to be expected now and then. But the hard part is -- I'm starting to find it difficult to play my regular game. Lately I've noticed myself missing value bets in close situations on the end, and having a hard time making folds on the turn -- especially ace high heads up.

Any thoughts out there?

It happens. I played live one time 5/10 for 30+ straight hours and at no time was I up or down more than 5 or 6 BB's, and I ended up + $4.00 by the time I left.

Weird things happen from time to time.

Examine your game and even though that's a LOT of hands, it could be a variance or it very well could be that you just have leaks. Check your Poker Tracker, examine yourself, reread some 2+2 books, and start the next X batch of hands fresh.

With the $14.50, go buy "Ray" next Tuesday on DVD, it's a heckuva movie.

Step back down. Analyze your plays, re-read some books ... and if all else fails ...
take a break.

It may not hurt to take after Passive Caller and print out 30 pages of hand histories to study during class. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Try not to let it bother you. Think of how much rake was collected over that time and realize that all of your rake was paid by your opponents. So you are certainly outplaying them and understand the game well. The more you play, the better you get, so even though you only broke even over this 10k hands, it means you are likely to have a nice win for your next 10k because you now have an extra 10k hands of experience at the Party 15.

I don't know. How about, take your 14.50, buy a bullet, and RENT a gun. This game is too hard.

Do whatever it is you need to do to end that now. Do not play another session of poker until you are capable of playing 'your regular game'.

That's why you should have a rakeback set up with an affiliate. Sure eases the pain of breaking even.

Once I was up $17 after 60,000 hands of 2-4. That was humbling. I decided to take a vacation from poker for awhile.

Sorry to inform you but this is a really boring post. I think that many of the winning Party 15 players can find 10K hands where they have lost money. Don't feel special.
