I’ve pretty much sworn off the Politics Forum (no offense) but this story is local and growing rapidly, so……

Ever read any of this guy’s stuff? Ward Churchill is a “radical” leftists (I think even Cyrus would agree that he’s radical) and is starting to ruffle a few feathers ‘round these parts.

He wrote THIS (http://www.ratical.org/ratville/CAH/WC091201.html) on September 12, 2001.....pretty ballsy, but ludicrous at the same time IMHO. This guy is out of his f'ing mind (again IMHO).

Folks are trying to get him fired form CU Boulder (aka, The Peoples Republic of Boulder or 12 square miles surrounded by reality /images/graemlins/grin.gif).

He'll be speaking at Hamilton College in NY on February 3rd, if you want to give a Socialist a few bucks to listen to him speak (LMFAO!!!!).

It's pretty sad that people are really trying to get this guy fired. There were even some legitimate points made in that post-September 11 piece. Was it tactful timing? Of course not. But political speech is sacrosanct and he's entitled to write whatever he wants. Just because the state cuts his check doesn't mean he needs to conform to some Orwellian party line.

Thanks for drawing this to my attention. I've been reading this guy for a while and never realized he taught at Boulder. Since I'm helping to pay his salary, I'm going to write a letter in support of him. From your post, I gather that his detractors a bunch of cowards -- like you -- who can't handle criticism of the U.S. any better than their communism-is-perfect counterparts.
