Hi guys, I don't know much about online gambling and I won't really try it until I read my poker books and practice a little. But at work today I had the thought of playing in between jobs. I'm a pickup/delivery courier and whenever I complete an order I have to wait for another one, which could take as little as 2 minutes up to an hour if I'm unlucky. I can also request breaks whenever i'm in between orders. I have a PDA and also a laptop that I can link to a cell phone with data service for internet access.

So I have the job/internet connection stuff figures out. Now I need to know if I can even do this at a online casino. Do they rules that limit you from jumping in and out of the games frequently? I might have to cancel a game in just a few minutes of joining which could be a problem.

Thanks for any help regarding my weird question /images/graemlins/smile.gif

There is no limit in regards to playing time, but it might be hard to get in the groove and get reads on people if you're in and out so quick.

However I'm the type of person that sits down and plays a minimum of 4 hours at a time minimum. I know some other people can only take 1-2 hours at a time.

your situation lends more readily for online casino bonuses rather than poker. the answer to your main question...no, it doesn't matter if you only play at an online casino for 3 minutes or three hours. the main games you play while you are hustling bonuses are blackjack and video poker, and if you pick a configuation where it's just you against the computer and no other players waiting, then you can take as long as you want to make decisions.

if you have a 10-15 minute pickup to do and you're in the middle of a blackjack hand, you could even just leave your internet on, close the laptop and the game will still be on when you're done. robot dealers don't care.

on the popular crpyto family of online casinos, all your betting activity is recorded on an easy to read "log viewer" so you know how far along you are in wagering to claim your bonus. the casino really doesn't care how or when you do it as long as it gets its required action in the end. once you add all your on and off playing minutes together, you'll find that the typical casino bonus is worth roughly $20-$30 an hour...certainly worth your spare idle time on the job.

accomplishing the same thing via poker will be harder and probably less profitable, because the time you waste waiting to post (and the additional cost of having to post often in many short sessions rather than one long session) will offset a lot of the potential profit from bonuses and actual play. due to hold em poker's variance, it's very difficult to have consistent profits in ring game sessions that last only an hour or less.
