Was cooking/eating dinner while watching, but it looked much better. Story is still a bit fragmented and the last game didn't make TOO much sense, but overall I think the show is much improved. The actor who played the rich Aussie gambler is actually skilled, I think he is the king-to-be from Bravehart.

What did u fellas/gals think?

Awesome.

I actually liked it a lot.

Garbage. I caught a glimpse of it while surfing and had to see it for myself. Of course I watch any kind of drivel when I come across (.)(.) while surfing so I am not suprised that a poker show caught my attention. Hopefully I won't stumble on it again.

I thought this was the best one yet. The first 30 seconds of the show, I can't remember what they said, but it was decent poker information from what I remember.

Watched bits and pieces...and agree the show is improving reasonably rapidly.

It's a combo of the 1st show being SOOO bad that it certainly couldn't have gotten worse...and also the plot actually making a little more sense as they go along.

Fewer ridiculous home-game scenes at boxing rings or with thugs pulling guns on each other as well as fewer bits of TERRIBLE dialogue ("like Creed and Rocky at the end of 3." "Ding. Ding.") help out A LOT.

I still don't think it's a very good show though.
I rate the first episode a 2....the 2nd episode a 3...and this episode maybe gets a 4 or so (or perhaps even a very generous 5, but I'll need to see the whole thing all the way through)

If you think it's that bad, then why do you keep watching it?

I think he was talking about the importance of table selection - I was worried that fish might actually learn something, but then I remembered that most of them will never learn a thing, because they don't want to.

I learned that you can make string bets if you are the matador.

Overall I like the show, I just hope the show doesn't make everyone think we are all cheaters.

Best.. Line.. Ever

"It's a father's worst fear to thinking about somebody POUNDING his daughter... but I guess if it has to be someone, you're fine"

"Ummm thanks, I guess."

Or somewhere along that line

1. Because Brent Musburger told me too (many many times)

2. I'm moderately interested in whether it will get better or not.

3. I'm a poker-player...and it's a show about poker....so it strikes me as something that might be worth watching. Go figure.

4. I was only watching bit-and-pieces of it. Was also flipping between that as well as a couple different basketball games and the weather channel all at the same time.

5. I want to keep up with the young, hip crowd. When someone refers to a stupid Matador quote I want to KNOW that's where it came from.

I still haven't seen anyone hurt him in a cash game yet.

On the hand that he busted the rich dude out, how did The Matador know the rich guy didn't have AA, or A9, or 98, or a higher pocket pair which COULD have pulled on the river?

Don't you get it? He knew this, because he knew the other guy had K7. You obviously didn't get his brilliant hand signaling system either. You probably have no clue why the best player in the world needs to cheat, or why a group of people obsessively want to beat him, or why the center of the poker universe permits cheating from one player in particular, or why when a whale comes with millions of dollars to a casino, the house wants him to play POKER (to gain an incredibly small percentage of that money), instead of CRAPS (for ALL of that money). You just don't get it, man. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Edit: Also, if the Matador doesn't know that the kid has the 7 /images/graemlins/club.gif in his hand, there's no way he's calling that all-in with that massive favorite. Matador just don't roll that way. Matador needs the GUARANTEED winner.

First episode I watched, but Ill say this..... they dont play enough, and they talk too much when they do. I found the show OK, If I were not a hardcore addict I dont think Id watch, this I will tivo when it doesnt conflict with other shows. That being said ESPN2 starts shows late, and early, and sometimes miss labels programs all together..... very good chance that will stop me from seeing other episodes
