I know its been done before..help me plan my 1st vegas trip! 21st bday

Im turning 21 april 9th and plan on heading down to vegas by myself for a couple of nights. The 9th is a saturday, so id like to arrive that morning, stay saturday night, sunday night, and come home monday whenever.
Ill mostly be playing poker. NL 1/2-2/5ish. I prefer nonsmoking cardrooms.
Hotel doesnt matter too much for me, though id like to keep it relatively inexpensive. I know im going to pay a lot for a room saturday night, but if i could average arounnd or below 150 a night, that would be doable.
What should i do while im there besides poker? Shows/clubs/etc? Im a quiet introvert, but ive thought about getting drunk off my ass and going crazy for a weekend.
Right now, excalibur seems to be the front runner. Cheaper rooms, they have a 1/2 NL game. Im not sure if its nonsmoking though.

Skip the 1/2NL...go straight to the 2/5NL. If you don't like smoking (me neither), then go to Mirage. If you can handle the smoke, go to the Palms (on weekends; weekdays its mostly all locals/rocks). If you want to stay to a lower buy in, go to Mandalay Bay, they have a 2/4NL, $200 buy in, and it's a pretty good game.

Well the previous post stole my ideas of games the 1/2 at excalibur is nuts, and if you want to play poker alot why not get a room there and get the poker room rate. I've benn there and talked to people who have put in 15 hours daily at that room. 2nd the mandalay bay has a tram to and from excalibur you can always take that over to the mandalay bay, i have heard the $ 200 NL game there is awesome and you can take some good money. For 2/5 although most would go to the Mirage i just well wouldnt i've been down there and to me the room seems cramped. Never been to the Palms and although it's smoking i'm sure it's more up to speed because it's where most of the younger crowd hangs out when they come to town cause the have so many clubs. You didn't mention anything about tournaments but the tournament at the sahara at 7pm is fun and a low buy in $ 40 and 1 $20 rebuy. As for drinking alone and playing cards on your 21st thats whack and i feel sorry for you, SO I live in Vegas and i'm more than willing to meet you any night to play cards, get drunk or go to the strip club my personal favorite is little darlings though. We'll tell them it's your birthday and you'll get the royal treatment lol. DB - This all sounds too sad for your 21st. You shouldn't really be going to Vegas to play cards - You play at f'ing Commerce for christ sake - It doesn't get better. So, you really need to go with friends, or meet up with people or whatever.

I go to Vegas fairly often, and have a little juice - PM me when you finalize your plans and I can probably grab a buddy or two and meet you there - It would be pretty fun to take a first timer out for his 21st in Vegas. We can grab a beer at Commerce sometime prior so you can verify that I'm not a DB.

Being a loner has a time and place - Your 21st in Vegas is not that time or place.

Play at Bellagio only. And only play at night. Day time games suck. Go to Excalibur for day time play.

Also go to Spearmint Rhino or Crazy Horse Too.

Ahhh Vegas. Fun town. I had my bachelor party there during the fall. for Max fun try:
1) The carosel bar outside harrah's- They have happy hour specials and entertainment- great place to meet women. If you play blackjack- single deck, face up for $10 a hand. Sit on the far left and have your drinks paid for.
2) Margaritaville (Flamingo)- Even if you don't like Jimmy Buffet, this is just a fun place. once an hour a gril slides down waterslide into a giant glass of "margarita". I highly recommend the nachos too.
3) Caesar's palace sportsbook- Try betting on the next 60-1 superbowl winner.
4) Baccarat bar in the bellagio: Sit alone at the bar after 10pm. When the first girl comes up for a conversation (within 10 mins), talk. At some point she's going to ask if you want to party. Tell her she can't afford you.
5) Sapphire (strip joint)- DON'T go there. $7 for a sam adams is a big ripoff, and you can't see much T&A without paying $20 because it's too dark.
6) poker rooms- there are more and more every month. Lots of action.

I just got back from Vegas yesterday and if I was you I would stay downtown. I had never been there before since I wasn't into poker before, but it was fun to play at Binions (and leave a winner). The NL game was fun and even though I didn't do good, the tournament was fun too. Downtown is better because in 15 min you can check out the games and pick one whereas on the Strip it will take you 15 minutes to get from the poker room to the street. I also recommend Lil Darlings (tip the guy out front and you can keep your booze with him and being drinks in all night). I would find people to have your back though - my buddy had to get my credit card back from some psycho stripper at the Gulch. Oh, and check out the Gambler's Store on Main downtown - I felt like a kid in Wonka's factory.

Okay, well what's been said about poker is all good. Play at the Excalibur and/or Bellagio. Fine. I'm here to comment on the strip clubs.

I recommend Little Darlings (aka Little D's, aka LD's). This is an all nude strip club. It's (relatively) cheap, and you will see a little bit of everything. This was the first strip club I ever went to, so I'm partial... You'll love it.
