Donald Stoner, Atlanta, won the PokerRoom.com WSOP Super Satellite and

is currently playing in the World Series of Poker.


After day 1 he is still left in the tournament, with about $14,000 in

tourney chips.

May 21: Don Stoner is still left in the tourney after day 1. He currently has about $14,000 in tournament chips. The chip leader has about $65,000. There are 354 players left out of 631 starting players. According to Don, most players played very tight and conservatively. He also started out playing very tight himself, and folded almost all hands he got pre-Flop. Only two of the nine starting players at his table are still left in the tournament.


Donald says that he will probably start loosening up a little and taking more risks on day 2 of the WSOP. He will try a more aggressive strategy with the hands that are playable.


According to Donald's estimate, there will probably be between 175-225 players left after day 2, and only about 45 players after day 3.


Before the WSOP started he practised a little by playing in some smaller satellite tourneys. At one time, he played at the same table as the famous tournament player T.J. Cloutier.
