Looks like I'll be in Tunica next month. I've never been. I'll be there the 25-27, staying at the Horseshoe. Besides my mandatory 5 hours at the table to get the poker rate, what should I make sure I do there?

Stepping outside of the Casino makes you want to go back in and enjoy the refreshing and beautiful neon lights. Tunica is a dump.

yeah, the place is awful. if you can change your plans jake, I would.

you know its bad when even the guys who made a [censored] load of money still dont want to come back.

even though i love uncapped NL and PL games, I still wont ever come back.

how is the suicide rate not higher in that town?

Nice post. Nah can't change the plans. Meeting friends there. We're there to play cards so no big deal on the rest.

Tunica is near Memphis. Then again, I can't think of all that much to do in Memphis, unless your an Elvis fan.

The only thing to do in Tunica itself is the casinos, that's it. (Well except for a very small strip mall and some gas stations - if you are interested in that) Remember they were built in the middle of the poorest part of the US (at the time they were built) in a vast wasteland of cotton and bean fields. It is not in ANY way like Vegas, Atlantic City or even Reno - although the Tunica casinos take in more money than the ones in Reno now. If you want to do something non casino related you have to go to Memphis.

Graceland, blues and ribs is all Memphis is good for.

Even though it has come a ways it's hard to imagine anyplace being more of a dump than Atlantic City.

I was thinking exactly the same thing.
