How do you post pictures onto posts?

So can anybody please tell me how to put pictures onto posts?

The pictures have to be out on the Internet. You can use a site such as http://www.uploadyourimages.com/ if they're not there aleady. Then, when you go to post, you'll see "Image" listed in the box of Instant UBB Codes. Click that, type in the URL to the image, and you're golden.

Do you mean a picture within the text of a specific post, or an avatar that appears under your name on every post you make? The procedure described by dfscott will do the former, but if you want an avatar, click on "My Home" above, scroll down to the "Main Configuration" section, click on the "Edit" link next to "Personal information...", scroll down to where it says "URL to your avatar" and fill in the URL, similar to what dfscott described and click the appropriate radio button. Pay attention to the size limits, and make sure your avatar fits within them.
