Obviously he was waiting for that guy to hit his 8J. Otherwise he might not get all-in.

I thought someone might wheel out the old "whats he calling you with on the river that you beat" after my big push.

Anyway, he called instantly and showed QQ to take down the pot.

He could easily have 8J or worse. I think you played it fine except for not betting the turn, of course.
