Hi All,

Oklahoma's first poker room is opening up tomorrow and I have a question about their proposed rake. The rake is as follows.

$10 pot gets raked $2 for 20% total
$20 pot gets raked another $2 for 20% total
At $30 the pot gets raked for an additions $1 for a 16.7% total rake.

My question is. Is it even possible to profitably play at the 2/4 and 4/8 level with a rake this large? I expect that the games will be totally juicy, but this rake seems gigantic to me. Any comments on this are truly appreciated.

We have a similar rake structure at the River Rock here in Vancouver. Pots over $30 get raked $4, however $1 of that goes towards our Bad Beat Jackpot, which requires Aces full of Tens or better beaten. I still find the games profitable, and the relatively loose requirements on the BBJ adds a lot of extra entertainment.

The rake at the closest Michigan casino to me caps at $6 and that 3/6 game can definatly be profitable.
