Is it better to clear paradise bonus on 1/2 or 50c/1 tables?
how many raked hands do you need to play to clear the max bonus?

Hi there. I just did the "granny" bonus. It took me a coupla days since I did the bonus at a leisurely pace.

I think it took me about ~1500 hands; something like that, maybe a little more maybe a little less. I did not keep exact records.

I did this on the 50c/$1 level; I think this is a superior strategy since at 1/2 a 50BB downswing=$100 while at 50c/1 a 50bb downswing=$50 (this means you still receive a bonus...lol).

From my experience, if you do well at party 50c/1 this will be no problem. the players are tighter, but just as weak. My personal results are bonus=100; profit at 50c/100=106 for a total of profit=206.

It is worthwhile IMO since it is quick, the competition is weak, and it is pretty much risk free.

Best of luck,

100 raked hands clear $10 at a time, so 1000 raked hands to clear $100.

somewhat quicker at 1/2

Not entirely relevant to your question, but it is interesting that generally Paradise bonuses clear faster at 1/2 than at 2/4 or even 3/6 because of the rake structure. You only need a $5 pot at 1/2 or below to count as raked hand but need a $20 pot at 2/4 and up.

The same applies to Party bonuses.

I'm currently chugging away at .50/1 and have cleared $40 so far. It takes ~180 minutes per table to get 100 raked hands and I need to play 160-190 hands in total. I only do two tables at a time since I don't like the overlap with 3+ tables.

Haven't tried the 1/2-level since I'm not comfortable there yet.

What about playing the NL tables? I signed up under GRANNY last night and played at the $25 NL tables (0.10/0.25). It seemed like I was getting about 25% raked tables per hand. I think it's due to the 25 cent minimum rake. Would my percentage increase to the 60-70% range at the $50 NL tables (0.25/0.50)? If not, where should one play if only playing NL?

You will clear the bonus quicker at .5/1 limit than NL 25 or even possibly NL 50. However I don't think bonuses should affect how you play, so you should probably just grind it out in NL 25.

Thanks. I Usually play the $25 NL on PP but the blinds are .25/.50. The Paradise blinds for $25 NL are .10/.25. So I think I'll just jump to the $50 NL for a round or two to see if there is much of a difference. I DO like the games at Paradise. I made $48.00 in 75 hand last night...
