I'm definitely not one of the top players at the table, so should I just take the likely coinflip?

I think I would have. He could have AA, KK, QQ, JJ, 6 ways to hold each, therefore 24ways that you could be dominated. He could also have AK, KQ (16 ways each), smaller pairs 99 down to 66 (24 ways), and he might be bluffing or semi-bluffing with something like QJ, a smaller pair, or whatever. (? ways). Therefore 24 ways you are 80/20 dominated, and at least 56 ways that you are 57/43 or better. (57/43 assumes he had pocket aces not your suits. All the other hands in the second group are better for you.)

Maybe we can find out:
Hey, Junaid0, What were you holding in hand 101 in the Pacific game?

Here is an example of the same thing that I held in hand 84:

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 8/images/graemlins/club.gif, 8/images/graemlins/heart.gif.
UTG folds, UTG+1 raises to t600, MP1 folds, Hero calls t600, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, SB folds, BB folds.

Final Pot: t5880

Results in white below:
UTG+1 has Ac Kd (two pair, sevens and sixes).
Hero has 8c 8h (two pair, eights and sevens).
Outcome: Hero wins t5880.

In this case there were 6 pairs, therefore 36 hands that would have dominated me. Mine was considerably closer to a coin flip that your tens. It helped that I had a bit of a read. TradeRounds had been all-in or made big bets on a few too many hands previous to this one, therefore I read him as a loose aggressive and played him to be a bit too loose. Turned out that for once my read was right and he did not have an overpair.
