Lipster: knew it

I guess he "knew" he was a 55/45 dog with zero fold equity for most of his tourney life here...

45% dog (actually 44.44%) but hes calling for only 33.43% of the total pot, giving him a win of around 600 chips? Without his whole stack on the line? Even retaining fold equity next hand? Assuming of course that he really did have this Ungar-esque read on you - well played!

Jesus Daliman, if this is the worst you have to complain about, you must lead a charmed existence.

i don't understand this hand, or why you posted it.

are you saying that lipster played this hand badly? calling 200 more from the big blind with sixes as the big stack at the table?

edit*--- nevermind... i thought he flopped a set

Where you see fold equity from having 595 left if he loses is beyond me, unless it's idiots in the BB. He made the play in about 3 seconds, and it was idiotic, simple as that. Exactly what "read" do you get from a pot sized/commiting bet into 2 opponents that 2nd pair no kicker is good? I made a commiting bet into two players who had enough chips to hurt me; reading that as a bluff is not only stupid, but suicidal vs me. It was more the fact that the idiot actually said he knew I was bluffing that really got me tho. I could have had 2 overcards only and STILL be right to call the last 610 here, so how on earth can risking 75% of you chips on a hope that could go bad anyways. It ain't all pure numbers, Chris. I'd like to think you know better than this, and I think you do.

This, of course was exacerbated by the fact that i pitched my first ever 4+ game shutout tonight; 0/11. Fan-[censored]ing-tastic.

You better be sure and copyright that. I hear the NBA is looking for a new twist on their existing slogan... /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Versus perfect opponents there is no fold equity but we both know that versus typical opponents you've still got piles of it with 595. So yeah, I guess you could say it's idiots in the BB.

Obviously he didn't really have a read on you, but if you imagine he knows your hand then his call (or reraise - I'm treating your bet as equivalent to betting allin here) is too loose but not outrageous. I erroneously used the entire pot size, which includes the rest of his stack, in my calculations before. His win is only about 330 chips. Not something I'd be keen to risk most of my stack on, even if I knew your hand 100%, but maybe I just don't have a gambler's heart.

You should be happy he's so delusional as to, post facto, imagine he made a great read. The other day I had 2100 or so in the SB at 100/200 and it folded to the button, who made it 500. I went allin with 88 and the button, who had me slightly covered, called and flipped up T9ss. Thankfully I managed to win the flip and the following ensued:

Me: Man, what a sick call
Button: I knew it was a coinflip
Button: Knew you had low pocket pair at best
Gigabet: good read

I would've been laughing if I lost the flip, too. And I'm in the midst of a horrible flat patch. Last 400 tourneys or so, ROI: zero percent.
