View Full Version : Are PokerStars FPP worth anything?

I have accumulated about 1300 frequent player points on PokerStars but do not see any worthwhile opportunity to use them at this time. Does everyone else have the same problem? More frequent players have probably accumulated many thousands of points, since I am relatively new there.

They appear to provide weekly tournaments where you can use 50 points for a fairly small prize. There is a monthly tourny for 200 points and a bigger prize. However, since these tourneys are only on Saturday afternoon, when I typically have other social plans, I have not been able to use a single FPP. It would help if such tourneys were more frequent.

More importantly, I wish they would provide tourneys with bigger FPP buy-ins. If I could spend 1000 or 2000 FPP to enter a tourney with a more significant prize, then the FPP might actually have value for me. I believe Planet Poker is providing such opportunities.

Regards,

EKM

Yes, they did hold these two tourneys for a WSOP entry fee to the big one. Still, I did not have enough points for that opportunity. I would appreciate other opportunities to use the points.

I believe players will be able to buy into some satellite's for the upcoming WCOOP event on PokerStars with their FPP.

Actually the prize pool was $12,500 pluh airfare, hotel, and $1,000 cash for the winner. So closer to $15,000.

but didn't you have to quality during a certain period for these. i.e. I've got 3,500 fpps if they have a 3000 buy-in tourney (maybe for a WCOOP seat) and you have to play all of June to build up points then I'm going to be mighty pissed off.

No. For WSOP tournaments there were no conditions. Anybody who had 3,000 FPPs could play, no matter when these FPPs were collected.

There is a requirement to collect enough FPPs by June 2 to get the 25% deposit bonus.
