hi guys i've just started playing at party poker after swtiching from pacific..... I was killing the 10+1 sng's there and I am finding it to be a large skill diffence at party..... Or is it im just on a bad run?

I was playing a step 3 lastnight , which i placed 5th in by the way... which got me wondering if i was out classed there.

I use the 10+1 strategy that was posted in 2+2. It does fairly well for me but does this still work when you start working your way up to step 3,4,5...... If not what sort of adjustments should I be making to stay competetive at these higher levels......

One last thing I wanted to check is what people think of this play?

hey johny- welcome to party.

one theme that seems quite ubiquitous among the posts here is sample size. The move to party, I very seriously doubt, is that drastic of a switch in skill. The 10+1's are quite a nice smorgasboard of fishy dishes. There are "players" there, but there are everywhere. I would stick it out a bit, and study the game harder. Commit to beating the thing and you'll get it done. Get 200 tourneys under your belt at Party and yo'll at least have a morsel of data to go by (you will still get chastized about sample size though until you have about 3000 tourneys). I wish you luck.

One other thing - do you have Bisonbison's converter site? It will tidy up your hand postings and you will get more reads if you present it in the nice neat fashion.

yep-- looks lots better.

yer definitely at all-in or fold mode. K-10 is ok. I like to wait for an ace at this point, but this probably a good time. If they call with an ace you are 60-40; 65-35 depending on their kicker - which isn't terrible. Yer a coinflip if they have a pair...and of course up the creek if they have a monster. Lotsa people would make the move here.

Me? I'd prolly hold off. I do get greedy sometimes and lose opportunities, but I like having an ace here or a pair. I would wait.

Yeah an ace is nice, but lots of times if someone does call you they have an ace in their hand... If your out kicked your really hurting at least with a king you have a bit better chance.
