seems like ladbrokes is a reputable place to play at, and they even have small deposit bonus, but i guess none of the players in US can play in those game because of its restrictions? anyone figure out a way yet?

i notice they play in dollars, so it's probably a "formality" that us players can't play

you can use my addy if you want

from the point of view of trust, this site is IT

i made it all the way to the address, and when i couldn,t find usa i used the defalt setting (england) - however i am afrade to fund site with us bank card, paypal may be ok, but a cashout to @$#%^& @#$%^^% new hampshire, england 03249 could cause problems - there are 2 many other sites to risk it just for a little action - boy sure looks like fun games!!! hate i wsated time downloading it - wish the resedency requirements had been displayed better

obviously i'm not advising this, of course, now that the fbi is monitoring this site, but maybe some players might try the paypal/firecash route with just $20 in and out and see what happens

or keep it there for their next european vacation

Keep the Yanks away - it's great the way it is. They'll start all this tight agressive nonsense. Real poker is about value betting JT on a KKTxx flop being called by both players and winning. You just don't get that kind of decision at Paradise etc /images/smile.gif

... the irony is, i can't get onto the site!

i've downloaded the programme, paid my money, but the (poker.com) programme doesn't open - and, as someone said, the whole of ladbrokes is off duty!!!

it's hard to believe they would run the site with no overseers and nine (as someone else said) all-in lives

I e-mailed them and got three replacement files that got the damn thing working. I guess you will get the same thing when they open again. I'm playing and having fun right now.

The connection is bad though.

By the way, I "only" have 3 all-ins.

And also, it's great for us Europeans to be able to cash out with no fees whatsoever. No cheques to cash in. No PayPal fees. Nothing. /images/glasses.gif

I just got a real reply on one of my e-mails just now, so there seems to be someone working right now. Maybe you can get the files too and start playing.

likely has to do with pressure from US govt on the Brits not to allow Americans to participate - obvously they would be happy themselves to have the action.

05-15-2002, 03:12 AM
Probably legal reasons. I don't think Ladbrokes would have minded had they decided for themselves. Just a guess though.

Ladbrokes are part of the Hilton Grop. They are worried that US authorities will take action against them. William Hill another UK sportsbook agreed to bar US citizens under threat of prosecution.

Also you can get the updated files for the poker client by clicking on "Repair utility" - this should be on your programs list.
