In general, I think heads up play is 90% playing the player and 10% playing the cards. I'm constantly looking at betting patterns to determine my action. If I haven't raised in awhile, I'll raise with any two cards. If I've limped from the SB and folded to a raise a few times, I'll look for a big hand to get him to do exactly the same thing (raise my limp) and then come over the top. I think heads up play is about winning some small pots while setting your opponent up for a big hand. So I like to see lots of cheap pots if I can.

Hand 1: Looks good. You mini-raise him on the turn but there isn't much for him to draw to so it probably gave him incorrect odds to call your raise but he didn't want to just fold.

Hand 2: Obvious fold (like you did)

Hand 3: Looks like you raised to T12700. Obviously, it won the pot but I think you need to raise a little more generally speaking. T12700 gives him 2.7 to 1 odds to call. I think making it T15000 is more appropriate.

Hand 4: I don't like calling with 65s out of position. But even worse, I don't like folding with a playable hand (which 65s is in some respects) to a mini-raise. It just sets the wrong tone. You start doing that and he'll mini-raise every time. So I'm okay with the call. You flopped bottom pair on a coordinated board so that's not a great hand. But you have no idea what you're up against. Could have been a pure steal on his part with junk. While you don't have a lot of chips, you're not completely shortstacked either. I think I'd lead out with a 1/2 to 3/5 pot size bet. That's fairly aggressive, but you and I both play pretty aggressively and don't mind taking stabs at pots.

Hand 5: Seems right.

Hand 6: Seems fine but at some point you might need to think about raising when he makes this little mini-raise.

Hand 7: Fine accept I still think you need to be raising more generally speaking. But I guess if he's going to keep folding to mini-raises then keep making them. But keep making them regardless of your hands (maybe not EVERY time but frequently) until he starts playing back at you. Then limp and make real raises.

Hand 8: Fine. But notice he raises to 18000 vs 12000 the few times before. What's it mean? We often think that when people make big raises they don't want action. I think in this case it means that he's been pushing you around with a mini-raise but this time he has a real hand.

Hand 9: You obviously have a good hand and he why he pushed w/A7 I don't know. Raise more. Probably tough to call w/KQ knowing your up against either Ace high or a pocket pair but I think it certainly is +EV.

Hand 10: Position is interesting heads up. It's often better to be first to act after the flop because you can lead out on rag boards. I think this is a board I would lead out with a bet (1/2 to 3/5 pot size). Also notice that he only bet 11000 into a 24000 pot. I think that's a weak bet and he bought the pot from you.

Hand 11: I'll stop saying that you need to raise more as that's just a general theme at this point. I think you played this hand very well. I can't believe he called you with Queen high. This should be a model hand for you. You led out on the flop even though you had an under pair. When called you backed off on the turn but he showed weakness by checking and you pounced on the river. IMHO you should play more hands like this even if you don't connect with the board (I'm talking heads up of course). I'd also think about check-calling the river because you will more often than not only be called (if you bet) by hands that you are marginally behind (like a T), and raised by hands that you are way behind (like a K). If you check, he might even bet with Ace or a smaller pair. And even if he has you beat it probably won't cost you more than if you lead out yourself.

Hand 12: I think you need to be more if you're going to bet at all on the flop. You bet 8000 into a 32000 pot. That's just a really weak bet. It's obviously a scary flop for you, but it might be for him as well. I'd lead out for about 16000.

Hand 13: Like I said, I like to see cheap flops if I can and he hasn't been raising you frequently when you just limp in. So I'd probably limp and see what the flop looks like.

Hand 14: Fine

Hand 15: Same as 13 but I'll add that you're not raising enough with marginal hands after several hands of being passive. If you've limped for a few hands, and especially after you've even folded from the SB pre-flop, come in for a raise with any two cards sometimes. It's very much about the betting patterns. If you haven't raised in awhile but now you do, he'll put you on a decent hand and fold more often than not (if you make a real raise of around 2.5-3XBB).

Hand 16: Fine

Hand 18: Not a great hand but you're getting into this habit of folding to his mini-raise. This hand IMHO is good enough to call a mini-raise, and again, at some point you really need to re-raise him (maybe not this hand but look for something that's either strong or at least not usually dominated).

Hand 19: Cheap flops.

Hand 20: If you're going to re-raise (and I would with this hand only because I want to play back at his mini-raise, not that I think it's a great hand to re-raise with), you've got re-raise more.

Hand 21: Fine - same comments as above

Hand 22: Fine - same comments as above

Hand 23: Fine - same comments as above

Hand 24: I don't like the call on the flop at all. I think you need to probably lead out with a bet, or consider a semi-bluff check-raise. I guess a call is okay if you're plan is to semi-bluff the turn if a scare card hits but I think I'd lead out.

Hand 25: You won the hand on the flop but you should have won it pre-flop. Make a raise with any pocket pair and you certainly aren't looking for a limp re-raise with 22.

Hand 26: Fine. You're getting a bit shortstacked so you probably need to be a little more selective with limping from the SB. So I think folding more (like you are) is right at this point.

Hand 27: Same as above

Hand 28: Same as above

Hand 29: Same as above

Hand 30: Fine

Hand 31: 8XBB, might want to be pushing here.

Hand 32: I don't like the mini-raise. You're putting 1/3 of your stack in the pot and giving him really good odds to call. You've got a pretty good hand heads up. Push

Hand 33: Tough hand to get away from heads up. I know you gave a lot of thought as to what to do on this hand. I think part of the problem (again) comes from the mini-raise as it really doesn't define your hand. With what he had, he obviously would have re-raised you (I would have pushed if I were him) but if you're making a real raise off the bat and he comes over the top you can give him more respect. But if you put him on Ax, any pair, and any two cards T and higher you are a 3-2 dog.
