I think the call is fine, especially since I'm guessing you were going to put him all-in anyways, correct? Villain might have realized this and decided he could possibly create some fold equity by pushing himself and making it look like he hit his hand or is stronger than he really is. I would guess some hand with a Q or maybe JJ or TT that he just couldn't let go of. I call this every time with no regrets. If you're beat and he wasn't smart enought to push on the flop, then oh well.
