Live 3/6 game yesterday night.

Jedi is in the small blind with 55. The game is 8 handed.

UTG folds, EVERYONE ELSE limps in (woohoo!) Jedi completes the bet.
BB raises. The last few times he's raised he's always shown solid hands, AK or high pocket pairs. Everyone else calls around to the button who re-raises. Button has also been playing solid cards as well, though he sometimes does raise lower-medium pocket pairs when in position. It's 2 cold to me.

There are now 16 small bets in the pot now and I have to call 2 cold, with the possibility that it'll get capped coming back. I have 8-1 current odds, but it'll likely really be 24-3 if I figure the pot will get capped.

I folded. BB called, everyone else called and CO (in a gambling mood) decided to cap.

Bad decision?

From the Department of This Is The Easiest Call In The World:

This is the easiest call in the world. You are getting, at worst, 24:3 on a 7.5:1 shot to hit your set. Your implied are huge here and if you hit the flop most of your opponents will likely be drawing thin or dead.

Huh? Getting 8-1 and being a 7.5:1 shot to flop a set?

No, this is a ridiculously easy call, even if BB caps.

Sigh.... Note to self: Flopping a set is 7.5-1, NOT 11-1.

....and I bet the flop contained a 5. Ouch.

And ya probably don't even need 7.5-1 here. With a pot that big, implied odds are HUGE.

Of course or I wouldn't even be writing this. The worst part is that the BB showed KQo, and the button mucked without a showdown. Winner was something like a pair of Jacks (top pair on the board). I not only completely miscalculated the odds, but completely miscalculated my opponents too.

With 6 limpers, I would have raised myself from the SB.

not to beat a dead horse here but flopping sets with huge action is how bankrolls are built!
