I don't know if there's a firewall, but there have been several posts about the dangers of logging onto poker sites in very public areas like airports. Your network connection is seldom encripted.

McCarrin may be particularly dangerous, chances of an average hacker thinking to scan for party connections might be elevated there...

some places prevent accessing gambling and porn places in public. running it through a proxy might help, but it takes some work to run a program through a proxy if the feature isn't in the options somewhere.

i wouldn't worry too much. all communications with party itself will be run through some pretty heavy encryption.

I didn't mean to bump that old thread; I'm alright at surfing and 4-tabling but posting is hard...

Here (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1219047&page=&view=&sb=5& o=&vc=1) is the other thread I was thinking of.

I'm no expert so take it for what its worth...

I had no problems at Bush Airport in Houston (mooching off the wireless outside their executive lounge).

if the communications with the party server are all encrypted (which they are), there is absolutely nothing to fear with regards to someone intercepting the traffic between you and party. it seems that was the eventual conclusion of the other thread too. the problems that other person had were not related to this issue, and i'll lay you 1,000 to 1 odds on it if you want to make it a bet /images/graemlins/smile.gif

It's funny how cheap gamblers are.

They risk their life savings yet book the budget "red eye" home.
