Did i missplay this? i know a fold would have been in order on the river most likely but on the flop and turn is there anything i should have done to prevent this situation?

I like a raise to 150 - 200 preflop in this situation. The flop bet is ok I think. I'd have shut down after he called the flop.

Given Villain's stack size I'd have raised more preflop. Another 100 chips is nothing to him, especially if he gained them by playing loosely. A reraise to ~200-250 is probably in order.

Flop bet is good.

If you think he would play a T quickly in this situation (most bad players will checkraise the flop when they flop trips) I'd just push all-in on the turn. A read on the player would be helpful.

The board is doubly paired on the river. I'm not sure whether or not I would call here but if he's been playing [censored] like J6o for a raise all day I may very well look him up.

Kind of a tough hand.

he's been playing random hands, limping/calling with crap b/c of his stack. i didnt read him as having a 10, i was figuring 2 overcards at best. so i felt good about my play, but when the 2nd 6 fell and he went all in i should have known, but i still felt he may be playing Ax and figuring his A kicker would give it to him.

The guy you were playing was an idiot. You took your turn at feeding the fish.

What was the chance the big stacked idiot was going to fold to the 2 X BB raise PF? I would check PF. You could raise more which with your stack would have meant pushing. This flop wasn't bad for you, but most flops are not so good for 99.

Edit: I was thinking your stack was 700ish - that was after the PF bets. PF you wouldn't have to push, but still either check or raise at least 200. I still go with checking 99 or TT at this point. If the flop doesn't suck for you, like 2 or 3 overcards, you can make your big bet there.
