Sorry. I resort to sarcasm quite often due to my rough childhood, and you obviously can't grasp it.

Where's "None of the above"?

You could kill Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Woody Allen and Steve Martin, and those two still wouldn't crack the top ten.

Greenthumb

There has to be better qualifiers. All the stand-up comics mentioned before are funnier than these two. These two might compete the funniest man alive to a 12-year old girl though.

I still refuse to vote in the poll.

Anyone mention Richard Pryor? How about Bill Cosby? I also find Jerry Seinfeld to be very funny. Just mentioning some names, I don't even think I have an opinion about who is the funniest.

Michael Davis
01-24-2005, 04:28 AM
Bill Cosby? Seriously? I do think it's funny that he's still fondling, though.

Richard Pryor isn't funny anymore although he certainly holds claim to this title back in the day. But honestly until I read your post I forgot he was alive.

Seinfeld isn't funny.

I agree with you on Cosby's old stuff. But it's old. However, Pryor, Cosby, and Johnny Carson are all funnier at this very moment than either of the options in this poll.

[/ QUOTE ]

I used to feel this way too, but Chris Rock has done a lot to redeem himself over the past several years. (Although he didn't do himself any favors with Down to Earth.) You could call his recent stuff racist if that was your goal from the outset, but it's actually some intelligent social commentary.

He was also in Dogma with my wife, Salma.

I completely agree that he's not top 5, but I wouldn't lump Mitch Hedberg in that group either. I just noticed in the past that fans of one are often fans of both.
