milk or cream for hot pepper burns. or sugar as its usually handy as well in restuarants. i like sugar for my mouth burns from peppers as i can let it sit there a while. but i think the milk neutralizes it better. cold water slows it down some. good luck

I feel your pain, while I had my bussing job I was cleaning off a table and the bottle of tabasco sause fell off the table and busted open. While I was trying to catch it a big glop came right up in my eye, and that might have been the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Luckily we were closed so while I was jumping around and yelling only other employees saw.

A while back, a friend told me that he had a bumper crop of habaneros, and that I could come over and pick some. I drove over, picked a lunch bag's amount, and drove home. That night I was driving to a movie, and touched my finger to my eye. Pepper residue from picking the habaneros was on the steering wheel. I still remember the experience vividly.

If anyone doesn't think habaneros are hot, get some from a home grower. There are other peppers that look like habaneros--I have my doubts about some of the ones I've gotten from grocery stores.

There are also small current-sized peppers that grow wild by sream beds locally--sometimes called chili petins, sometimes chili pequenos. They're about halfway between a twice-droughted jalepeno and a habanero: nice zing.

Once I bought a few of those a few years ago. I took a medium sized one, and chopped half of it up and put in a can of refried beans and cooked it up. I did get the can down, but it was pretty tough. Next thing you know, my forehead is sweating, and some of the sweat gets into my eye, which stung like the dickens. Then when it finally completes its journey and leaves your body, it will be sure to give you another little love tap on the way out.

I told this guy at work, and he said "no way, I could eat one of those". I told him I would give him $20 to eat a medium one straight up with no other food, only straight water allowed, and it had to be in one sitting. It was a real hoot watching this guy grimace. Finally, he says "why don't you give me $20 if I can eat half of it". Sorry bucko, the idea here isn't for me to give you $20.
