Poker Stars $6 + $0.50 Turbo.

Early in the tournament so I don't have any reads on villain as yet. I have no notes on villain from prior games. So I either haven't run across him before or he has done nothing of note.

I am posting this hand, because I see this type of situation frequently and I want to check my thought processes and play here.

All comments on all streets are greatly appreciated.

Preflop:

Bet is same as I would have done.

Flop:

Bet is ok. If he is drawing to a flush you are giving him about 2.75 to 1 odds to call your bet.

Turn:

Does he have the A /images/graemlins/heart.gif? He raised to t600. If you call you have invested t870 into this hand which is 41% of your stack.

IMHO I do one of two things right here. I bet the t300, decide he has the A /images/graemlins/heart.gif when I get raised and fold the hand or:

Decide I have the best hand, realize I am pot committed and push.

Tough decision.

Since I have no notes on him, I would probably give him credit for having the A /images/graemlins/heart.gif and fold. I still have t970 and the blinds are relatively low.

This is my 3rd post, because I can think of 2 ways to play this.(one of them EXACTLY like you did) The other is 1. same preflop, 2. Pot bet flop then 3. check and see how his bet defines his hand (ie. is he trying to push you off, or sell ya)

As I review the origonal post though, there are many more ways besides a flush that this board could have hit him. 2 pair, strait, and of course--a perfect flop to bluff at a likely overpair.

Which brings me to a central belief, that you should never be getting too comitted when the blinds are this low--unless your sure you have the lead.

I feel like Iīve said a few different things here--sorry--itīs a very interesting hand. You got locked into that SOB. My tight ass would give it a healthy pot bet, them I wouldnīt put another penny in if that was withstood and the board came unfavorable.

Fold the turn. He's not raising the J /images/graemlins/heart.gif.
