I'm in. I got dealt AA on the first hand. My 8-year-old daughter, stalling bedtime and kibbitzing, counselled me not to go all-in and get knocked out in the first round. Had only one caller to a modest raise and no post-flop action, so no chance to do it.

2K and have been right around there (+-200) since the first orbit. Only interesting hand was I tried to slow play trip 10s on the flop (AT3). Turn was a J and it turned out he had pocket JJ. Felt like he was trying to milk me (I thought straight) so I didn't lose too much.

Hey Datsun, I sat at the table with you till I got KTFO'd.

Remember the guy that went all-in on zilch a few times and got away with it once or twice? I threw out 99 once and JJ once because of him and with large stacks behind me, including yours.

ilovemyZ
01-23-2005, 12:34 AM
Are you talking about the guy sitting in the 10 seat? or the one that I caught bluffing w/ 62o when i had trip 5s?

Dale
01-23-2005, 12:43 AM
The guy that was bluffing w/ the 62o. I think that might have been the hand I threw out 99, and a 9 flopped.

ilovemyZ
01-23-2005, 12:47 AM
No... on that hand the flop was 554 two-tone, and he kept betting like he had something big. We definitely had to maniacs at the table though. My stack thanks them.

2nd break. 5k chips. Couldn't get action the couple of times I had AA and KK.

break #2, 2nd in chips, ~T13000. I really benefited from the crazies and the no-shows. People were calling down w/ bottom pairs and betting into flush boards. Fortunately, I had the cards to capitalize.

Thanks. Hit a couple of hands including a set at my last table. In good shape with 6760, at table 3 with Ilovemyz.

After the break... I'm getting my ass handed to me. Made the mistake of raising w/ a weak A trying a blind steal... he had AKs. Then I raise w/ a suited A, run into AK again. Quickly knocks me back down to size. Them's the breaks of a bully.

Up to 20k after getting my KK all in reraised all in by 77. My hand held up.

We're hanging in there Z. We both need to make something happen soon though.

Wow, the last hour was completely horrible for me. I think the only playable hand I had was AJo. I ended up out at 44th when I pushed a flush draw. OH well... not bad for a poor limit guy in his first NL tourney.

LOL... sorry to leave you hanging. But check out table 2... d050173 is getting out of the kiddie pool and making moves. BTW, I honestly did not think he had a pocket kings... At best, I thought he had over cards.

It is a tough break. I was pretty agressive for a while. So far have only made one bad read. This thing takes for ever I didn't expect a 600 person to take this long. I feel bad for the east coasters..

just put a major suck out on someone. I called from the BB with pocket TTs and pushed on a low card flop. He had kings. Thank god for the river.

David,
I forgot to ask if you screamed "JAAA" like Mattias Anderson when you caught your 10 on the river. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well I stopped breathing when I saw he had an over pair. By the time the Ten came I was out of breath. I had to settle for a tiger woods fist pump. I was the chip leader for 2 hands a second ago. This should start getting really fun in the next half hour or so.

Ok empire poker tournaments are lame. This thing just went hand for hand with 20 left. The thing only pays 2 spots. On the other hand the software was nice and put the big stacks at the other table.

Yeah... the hand for hand really slows things down. I trying to give you some sweat. Lemme know if you want me to back off.

Well I tend to ignore chat (multitabling habit) so if I miss you it wasn't personal. Been pretty card dead lately and people have been raising in front of me before I can steal. It turns out AJ is a good resteal hand against a UTG raister/images/graemlins/grin.gif Not going to try that too often....

You're doing very well. 3rd in chips right at the break. Looks like the cards are coming your way again. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Ok at the 5 hour break. 11 people left. I have 73K chips which is right around 3rd. A bunch of people at with 40K though. Not much post flop play anymore. Most pots are either stolen or folded to continuation bets.

I am beginning to understand what Dan Harrington was talking about getting tired. And I have only had that one heart stopping moment. I wish he would have finished his second book. It would come in handy right now /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Made a bad move with 55 so am a bit crippled at the final table. Time to catch some cards and get lucky

david050173

Out in 10th. I pushed (something like 3-4x BB in UTG+2) with AJ and ran into AQ and I couldn't pull out my second suckout of the tournament.
In retrospect it probably wasn't worth it to gamble with 55. I thought he would lay down ax to a big raise (he had been raising light a lot from what he showed). My other mistake is I made one steal raise when I should have pushed. Oh well it was loads of fun but I am exhausted. Considering I went out before the first break last time, I think reading HOH has improved my game. Either that or variance smiled on me today. I prefer to believe the former even if the later is more likely /images/graemlins/grin.gif
