I've been reading over these boards and playing serious for about 3-4 months now and finally have my first tournament win! Most people won't care, but for this is a post more for the people just starting out. Read these boards and learn the concepts that these posts talk about. It really does work! Thanks 2+2!

That's great, but it's more fun when you give us more info: buyin, number of runners, how much $...

Congrats,
Che

If it was like $200.. keep it to yourself. People will be bastards here and berate you.

Or maybe that's just me.

Anyways, I remember my first win. It was an awesome feeling.
I had the chi...

Not the che.

I agree, there alot of big rollers...(lol) on here that berate players who play at lower limits while they dont realize that beginning players are wise for playing many smaller MTT's to build experience and to manage a small bankroll.

Regardless, congrats on the win be it for 100 or 10k or even 100k your first win is priceless and I hope it only shows you that you can achieve what you want in poker...with enough hard work and experience.

any multitable win is a good one so be proud even if it was a low buy in and you only won a small amount.

Winning a tournament with 715 entrants is always an accomplishment. Are you planning on moving up in stakes or staying with the 5-30 range?

I think $50+ tourney's are too high for me. I still have a lot to learn, so until I'm consistent with my play, I'm going to stay with the $5-$30 range. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The fact that you have the discipline to stay in the same level of MTTs shows wonders about your game and poker personality.

My first MTT placing was over the summer in the 00:00 party $109. I placed 5th and netted $2500.

I proceeded to piss away about $800 of it continuing to play all of the supers and weekend multis thinking I was hot [censored].

I shouldn't have even been in the $109 at the time - but I was buying directly into the big tournaments.

Newbie stupidity.

I have never read any post where someone berates a winner of an MTT, regardless of the buy-in. It's a huge accomplishment to get through such a massive field.

Congrats on your first victory! The very first MTT I played in was a Freeroll one for like $20 and I placed 439 out of 900 entrants. /images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Congrats man.

Just got my first victory tonight. Don't make fun, $5 buy in, 363 entrants. But hey, a win's a win!

Hell those $5s are hard to win. I played those $5s every night for a couple months last year. Never won a single one and I've won two $200 tourneys. Be proud of that win!

That is an awesome first win man. You should hold your head up high. I can't get a holdem win to save my life. I got a PL O/8, a stud/8, a razz, and three stud wins to my name, but of course the field is a lot smaller in those (largest was like 185). Every time I go for the holdem score, I can't manage the huge fields.

One day I hope to get a win like that. Those who have get my respect.

Congrats to everyone above who's gotten a win. Quite a rush, isn't it?

Got my first one in a Prima freeroll (1000 players, $250 first place) on Saturday. Came back from being the final table short stack, outchipped about 15-1 by the leader, was only a 3-1 dog when it got to heads up, and got a good run of cards to take it down.

Good times.
