I think I raise that flop.

I fold the river though.there are too many hands that beat you.

I guess i should have realized it wasn't a steal by the pot sized bet....he showed Q9 for the straight

You have to bet the flop. You have two overcards plus a draw to the nut flush. You are ahead more often than not; even when you're not ahead you'll hit the nut flush 1 out of 3 times.

That said, I'd fold to the river bet, although it's close - I don't think too many players would slowplay a flopped flush all the way to the river, especially when they have to fear someone else holding the A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif and hitting the nut flush.

betting like that with Q9 is still a steal.

when you want to catch bluffers, make sure your hand can beat the bluff.

I think at these lower limits, players often overvalue their own hands but they don't make outrageous bluffs with nothing that often.

you can't call in case he's got king weak kicker?

I just don't think K weak kicker calls that preflop bet and calls that flop. maybe if he had K diamonds, he calls that flop.

But its true that I am not that familiar with these limits.

also, I don't think it happens often enough to have it be worth it.

you are going to need a K non J kicker for this call to be worth it and I don't think that happens often enough to offset the any T, any flush, Q9, AQ, JJ, 22 that beat you.

You beat K weak kicker by betting on the previous rounds, not by calling big river bets. You should bet/raise the flop.

All you have is ace high in a five-handed pot. Raising that flop is throwing money away. You very rarely have the best hand and you very rarely will get everyone to fold.

Any A, K, Q, or diamond probably makes you the best hand.

when you fail to define your hand, it makes the later streets harder to play. raise the flop.
