I don't think the money had to go in on the flop...his play made it impossible for me to make a mistake...?

Yes I tend to agree.

I know he tries to rep AA/KK here with that push. trap preflop, push the flop. At least thats the impression I got. But the thing is there aren't too many hands that beat AA/KK but falls to bottom set.

I tend to like smooth call on that one.

On this hand, I was CO with AA. Some people disagreed with the smoothcall preflop. Thoughts?

This hand I was MP3 with 55. I feel like I played the turn/river very strangely, but I was lost once the straight cards hit. Any suggestions?

Well, not sure if it is "standard" but you ended up almost doubling through on the 55 hand, so I think it worked out very well.

I'll comment, since the two biggest pots here both featured me going bust. /images/graemlins/blush.gif

On the explosion hand, I held TT and lost to AA. I thought about folding to the flop raise, but I had been playing aggressively to that point and thought edge might have overcards. When edge pushed on the turn, I made the bad call. I'm not sure if the preflop smooth-call was a good play in general, but it was very expensive for me this time.

Regarding the set-over-set hand vs. Wayfare (my 77 vs his 88), I didn't think too hard since the stacks were short. I did think that I should get the money in before a turn card comes that kills my action or leaves me unsure of where I stand. But it's true that not many worse hands can call my raise.
