$1000 NLHE WPO Final Table Hand

Hey,

My bud made it to the final table with the smallest stack.
The small blind=3000 and big blind=6000

The chip counts were:

Hero has 29,000 and posts the SB on the very first hand. The chipleader limps UTG. (The chipleader will limp with a lot of hands, not trash, like QTs, KJs,pocket pairs etc. He also has been limping with AK, AQ, AJ but will raise with big pairs.) He will most likely call if hero moves all-in. All fold to hero who has A2 in SB. What would you do?

We thought a reason for just calling and seeing the flop was that if he totally missed he could wait one more round before making his move and in the meantime chances are one of the smaller stacks would get all-in. So, he might move one spot up the ladder before making his move.

I'd push. You need chips and it's time to gamble it up for a chance at finishing in the middle or front of the pack. There's no guarantee that you're going to move up a spot by folding. Calling lets the bb see the flop for free and you're just praying that you spike an ace on the flop and that neither of the villain has an ace when you push the flop. So push and give yourself the chance to hit the ace on all 5 of the cards or to win with high card if villain misses too.

Push or fold. It is a good idea to push at UTGs limps, but A2 is not the best hand to do it with. UTG will almost certainly call. The pot odds are too good and he probably has some kind of hand and knows you don't need a monster to push.

If you call, what kind of a flop are you looking for? One with an ace or deuce in it? You may be ahead with ace high with all sorts of flops. If an ace flops, you could be practically drawing dead to a higher kicker.

I think this is a pretty clear fold. You're going to be on the button next hand, so you have some time before you need to put anymore chips in (since you didnt mention antes, I assume there arent any). I'd much rather be the first one to enter the pot than raising allin, without much folding equity, knowing that at best you're about a 55% favorite. Before your next BB, the other two short stacks could bust also, which would double your payday. I dont like calling here either, but I think its better than pushing. The problem with A2 is that you're never supremely confident with a flop. Depending on the BB chip count and tendencies, I might do a stop and go, but if the BB has a lot of chips I'd be less inclined since hes probably more likely to call a significant bet.

tough spot but it seems as if there is a chance he could move up one maybe two spots and he is the button next hand. with the criteria you gave for the chipleader he will almost certainly call with many hands. i may change my opinion tomorrow but i say fold.
