Dang, I had a real eye opener today. I couldn't use my usual book mark to get to the NetTeller sign in page today, so I typed 'NetTeller' into a google search. What I found shocked and surprised me.

Every link they listed was for a phoney phishing site that immediately asked for my netteller account number and password so I could log in. They used NetTeller in the url but many had some phoney bank iincluded in the url.

What was even more surprising was I couldn't find the legitimate NetTeller sign in link anywhere from the google search. I gave up after reading several pages of fake urls.

Then I typed netteller.com directly into my browser link and that also took me directly to a phishing site for some reason. Pretty scary.

I can imagine a new NetTeller member getting scammed easily this way after doing a google search. Try the google search for yourself and see. Pretty scummy people out there trying to get our money.

The problem was probably that Neteller only has one "t". Kind of like when people took all the sites named close to yahoo many years ago. Yahooo, yahhoo, yohoo, etc.

Guess what:

www.toplusto.com (http://www.toplusto.com)

and

www.tooplustoo.com (http://www.tooplustoo.com)

are still available. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You are so right Thythe. I was using two t's in neteller. Using the correct name I see the correct lisings in google.

But still, its amazing how many phishing sites were set up under netteller. I guess they figure if you are stupid enough to mis-spell neteller, you are stupid enough to fall for their phishing.

I searched for the double-T netteller. I didn't find any fishing sites - just some smaller banks that call their internet access 'NetTeller'.
