I'd do a poll but there's too many kinds. I have a male english bulldog.

I don't have a dog. I've never had one. Maybe someday.

I don't have one because the wife won't let me (I'm a wuss sometimes). If I got approval, I'd either get a clumber, a brit or a mutt from the pound.

Female choc lab cross, abused pound dog. Bit me three times when I got her.Still skitish around strangers but a great fishing dog for me, loyal.

"I" don't actually have a dog anymore since I've moved out on my own, but my parents have two greyhounds that I adore.

If you are looking for a new dog (or another dog) consider adopting a greyhound (http://www.adopt-a-greyhound.org/) they make excellent pets...mild-mannered, quiet, (usually) friendly with cats and other dogs, safe around kids, etc. They are also extremely laid back, you'd expect them to need a lot of exercise but the fact is they really don't need any more exercise than a normal dog and generally they end up being very lazy around the house (although they love the opportunity to go for a run now and then). Check it out, you won't regret it.

My dad and stepmom have an Australian Shepherd, who I adore. Here's what they look like generally, though ours is a lot fatter (and probably a lot lazier) than this one:

I'd love to get a dog, but right now I don't think I'm up for the responsibility. Sometimes I can barely take care of myself, much less something else.

Two Shih Tzus - I know that people immediately think "That guy HAS to be gay" when they see me walking them, but oh well. My wife bought them when we were dating and I'm hopelessly attached to them now anyway.

One male Norwegian Elk Hound - Sheltie cross of all things that I found abandoned as a young pup. He's 4 years old now. I also have a female 100% Bloodhound pup that's three months old. She was bred in northern Nevada. I picked her up from her breeders there during the week between Christmas and New Years. I had a two year old lab cross with something that died this summer due to a liver disease.

That's not my dog, but it looks sort of similar to the American Eskimo pictured.
They have a funny bear-like look to them.
